Our Favorite Products from June
It’s already the end of June! Time really flies. Here are six of our favorite products that we were gifted in the month of June :) Enjoy.
This serum was introduced to me by Steph Shep and the EWG, so if you’re into “clean beauty” then I’m sure you’ll be interested in this one. AveSeena’s Essential Radiance Serum has some of my favorite ingredients like niacinamide and glycolic acid. Both are fitting for a serum that claims to make your skin radiant. It’s also EWG verified which means that it doesn’t contain any ingredients that the EWG deems as harmful. The other ingredients are basically a long list of extracts. Some that stand out to me are willow bark extract and licorice root extract. Willow bark extract is like a natural source of salicylic acid, but it’s not exactly salicylic acid itself. Willow bark extract has salicylates that are also found in salicylic acid (mainly used for acne prone skin). Licorice root extract, niacinamide (Vitamin B3) and glycolic acid are also ingredients that will even out your skin tone and fade pigmentation. The consistency is on the thicker side for a serum, but it applies smoothly! I’ve been using this serum for a few weeks now as the only serum in my AM routine.
In my last post I talked about the niacinamide booster and a little bit about this Vitamin C one. This is my second bottle of the C15 Super Booster and I love it soooo much. Before using my first bottle I had some major pigmentation issues and tons of acne scars. After finishing the bottle the scars were barely noticeable! I swear it looked like I had some sort of acne scar contour on the sides of my face lol. I’m so grateful to Paula’s Choice and this product for giving me such amazing results. They kindly sent over a refill so I’m really glad that I can keep it in my routine. I like to apply this in the morning, a few drops mixed into my AveSeena serum (above). And I add a couple drops of the niacinamide booster too! I used to apply it on its own but I prefer a less watery consistency so I mix it with other products. It can be mixed with a serum or a moisturizer.
I know you’ve probably heard me talk about this perfume a lot since I’ve been raving about it on Instagram… but here I am again. Professing my love! What’s cool about Heretic’s Dirty Fig is that it actually has no fig in it. What they’ve done is created their own interpretation of how a fig smells using different essential oils and ingredients (and yes, they got it so right!!).
This fragrance mix includes top notes of bitter grapefruit, italian bergamot, sweet scented geranium. Heart notes of damascena rose and black currants. Base notes of raspberry.
Isn’t it amazing how all of these scents come together to resemble the scent of a fig? If I had to choose any scent to wear for the rest of my life it would be this one.
My first favorite from this month is the Eve Lom Moisture Cream. I feel like I was a bit late to jump onto the Eve Lom bandwagon, but I’m so glad I finally was able to try their products! This moisture cream is a standout product for me. It has a tiiiiiiiny bit of fragrance (Lavender), which I was instantly a bit worried about, but I tried it out with a patch test and my skin didn’t mind it! I use this during my night routine, right before going to bed, and my skin driiiinks this stuff up. I’ve had a bit of dry skin lately, so I’ve been trying to treat accordingly. This moisturizer claims to be multitasking, with anti-aging, antioxidant, antipollution and hydration properties. Key Ingredients are: PrimalHyal Ultrafilter - which is hyper-hydrating, plumping, and stimulates the skin’s defenses, Peach Flower & White Horhound Extracts which are both full of antioxidants, and 3D Hydration Booster which provides hyper-hydration! I’m reallyyyy loving this cream. It’s just what my skin needed.
Moving on to my second favorite! The Grown Alchemist Detox Toner. This is the first product I’ve tried by this brand, but I’ve heard amazing things about them for aaages. I’m really glad that this was the product that introduced me to the brand, because I really enjoy it! Plus, the claims behind it are incredible. It contains cell-communicating ingredients that remove impurities while ALSO repairing damaged cells. This helps reduce appearance in fine lines and wrinkles. Peptide-33, another really interesting active ingredient in this toner, detoxifies free radicals as well as repairs DNA damage. I mean …. C’mon. How amazing is that? I haven’t been using this toner for THAT long, but I really enjoy the way it makes my skin feel. I have noticed that my skin looks a lot more plump - and I think I owe it to this product as well as the Eve Lom cream.
C-Firma! Okay, okay, I know - this isn’t really a shocker. But I had to include it! Vit C has made such an impact on my skin - it’s really helped with any discoloration I have as well as brighten my skin’s overall tone. Drunk Elephant was kind enough to send this product over to me, and I was so ecstatic to try it after hearing incredible things for as long as I could remember. And of course - it didn’t disappoint! I love everything about this Vit C formulation, as well as the packaging - since we all know that vitamin c tends to be a bit finicky with air exposure + oxidation. I just love this!
Last, but certainly not least - this beautiful, BEAUTIFUL Scandalwood candle from Heretic Parfum. You guys have seen me include this in multiple photos - I just can’t get enough! As the flame heats up the glass, Dita Von Teese’s clothes begin to fade away. It’s stunning! Mysore sandalwood, sweet coriander, orris butter, and bulgarian rose are the notes of this candle, and trust me - it’s heavenly. I’m trying SO hard not to burn through this immediately, but it’s hard! I’m obsessed.
