How to Avoid Overpacking Your Skincare Routine

If you're anything like me, you get separation anxiety when you don't have your skincare routine accessible. This is a real bummer when you're traveling, but we all have to do it at some point or another whether we're going overseas or just somewhere for the night. On my recent trip I believe I packed a full five bags of skincare products, but I only used about two of the I figured out a way to help you avoid overpacking your skincare routine! Your goal is to fit it in one bag.

First off, take a look at everything in your current routine. If it's possible to fit it all into a cosmetic bag then this post isn't for you. Sorry! If you can't fit it all, figure out what is absolutely necessary. Usually that would be a makeup remover, cleanser and moisturizer. Everyone has something they can't part with and for me that's my Salicylic Acid from The Ordinary. That being said, take that product (or two if you absolutely have room) with you.

Now let me tell you about the minis... Travel sizes are your best friend!! After all, they're meant for traveling so duh...take them! I usually buy the travel sizes of the products I'm currently using a few days before I leave, stalking the Sephora travel size section up and down. Chances are you won't run out while you're away. Another good idea would be to stock up on samples! You know you have a stack of samples hoarded in your bathroom from all that shopping at Sephora, so it's about time you put them to use.

After all of that you should have compiled everything you need, downsized. Remember to choose a bag that will work efficiently for you. I love my mini Ouai purse (it came with the On My Ouai Kit) but if my products need extra protection I'll reach for the pink Glossier pouches which are basically bubble wrap.

Remember to close all your caps to avoid spillage and have a great trip! – Dax
