We are only two people, meaning most of our blog posts relate to only our own two skin types. Now you'll be able to hear from those with all sorts of skin types and concerns. Here we compiled a list of the products that were shared with us, maybe this is your introduction to your new HG product! Keep reading to find out :)
Reader: @sanaalovee // Skin type: dry & dehydrated
Recommendation: COSRX Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream
@sanaalovee says: I have dry/dehydrated skin and I absolutely love the COSRX Honey Ceramide Cream! It is so incredibly hydrating, and every time I use it at night (especially with a drop of any facial oil) I wake up with the most radiant, plump skin! Can't be without it! 💛
Reader: @skinshipworthy // Skin type: dry & sensitive
Recommendation: Mediheal NMF Aquaring Ampoule Mask
@skinshipworthy says: This is by far the best sheet mask, I love the sheet texture. The sheet is thick (soft cotton sheet mask) and has a richer consistency. It's aimed to moisturize, plump and have dewy skin.
Reader: @aesthetic_beautydiary // Skin type: dry, sensitive & acne prone
Recommendation: Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel
@aesthetic_beautydiary says: My fave product is Drunk Elephant B-Hydra. It literally changed the texture and health of my skin in a way nothing else has. I have dry, sensitive skin that's prone to breakouts and hates heavy creams/most oils so it can be tricky to moisturize, especially in the winter. B-Hydra changed all that and I'm never going back. In the winter I mix it with a slightly heavier cream or their Marula Oil, but in summer it's perfect hydration all by itself. Use it AM and PM. 👌drops emoji, happy with hands emoji) It's also super versatile--sometimes I use it to sheer out and add more dew factor to foundation/concealer.
Reader: @ninaonx // Skin type: dry, sensitive & hormonal acne
Recommendation: May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon Beauty Balm Concentrate
@ninaonx says: I have dry, sensitive, and hormonal acne and this stuff keeps my skin happy. I hardly have breakouts anymore-- even at the time of the month because this stuff is so good. Not just for the skin but for the soul too. Anytime I'm feeling anxious or stressed, I just inhale this jar and instantly feel more at ease. It's a product that I will never live without!
Reader: @hazelpiollo // Skin type: dry to normal
Recommendation: The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil & Skoah Gold Serum
@hazelpiollo says: I have dry to normal skin, and I don't wear makeup much. So, when I need that extra moisture or glow, rosehip oil with Skoah's Gold Serum gives me a dewy healthy skin look (:
Oily and/or Acne prone Skin
Reader: @sabaghsofia // Skin type: oily/congestion/darkspots
Recommendation: Paula's Choice RESIST Advanced Pore-Refining Treatment BHA 4%
@sabaghsofia says: I love it because it's the only thing that works for blackheads! It is kinda siliconey, but it spreads easily and makes it way less irritating. I can see a difference from about 3 uses of the product. It's literally nothing short of amazing. And when you layer with a clay mask on top, you will have nooo blackheads left at all.
Reader: @peonilla // Skin type: oily/acne prone
Recommendation: Belif The True Cream - Aqua Bomb
@peonilla says: My fave product is the Belif The True Cream - Aqua Bomb. It has a very light gel-like texture but it's super hydrating! My skin feels glowy and healthy every time after I use it :) My skin is acne-prone and oily in the t-zone but I haven't had any problems with it (no zits or anything). I would give 10/10 for this moisturizer! It's the bomb.
Reader: @erinkallio // Skin type: oily/acne prone
@erinkallio says: My skin is super oily w/ acne and my favorite products (I can't pick just one!) are the Go-To Face Hero and Pixi Glow Tonic. I started using both of these at night in June and the combination has helped my skin sooooo much!
Reader: @myglowguide // Skin type: oily/acne prone
Recommendation: Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Oil
@myglowguide says: I love this because it's versatile! I can wear it alone, under moisturizer, over moisturizer. I can mix it with gels, creams, other oils, sleeping masks. It's the first oil I've worn during the day. Such an all rounder!!! It's soothing, calms my blemishes down, doesn't feel heavy on my skin. My only regret is not having it in my life sooner!
Reader: @beautybanter // Skin type: acne prone/pigmentation (melasma)
@beautybanter says: I love this because it's versatile!
Reader: @adelfamarr // Skin type: acne prone/large pores/texture
Recommendation: Sunday Riley UFO
@adelfamarr says: I've become a sucker for Sunday Riley's UFO. I was always hesitant to try it because I thought it would all just be hype but it's actually been helping keep my skin a little clearer. I have acne-prone skin with large pores and texture issues so it's nice to have to worry about one less thing such as break outs.
Reader: @skincarehoney // Skin type: oily t-zone/large pores/hormonal acne
@skincarehoney says: Lumene Valo Nordic-C Glow Boost Essence! It brightens the skin, adds a lot of hydration, and makes the skin feel so soft and supple! Also Leo Oil is really amazing too to minimize the appearance of large pores and is just a very good overall oil for all skin types! It also helps reduce inflammation from the rosehip seed oil and blue tansy oil in it!
Reader: @sarasubaric // Skin type: normal/combo
@sarasubaric says: COSRX Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser! It leaves my skin super clean and refreshed, but it's never stripping or drying my skin out. And the best part, because of the BHA and tea tree that it contains, it clears up blemishes! This legit cleared up my skin in a week when I first started using it, and whenever I stop, my skin isn't as soft and radiant and it starts getting congested again. Def my all time fave cleanser and one of my holy grail skincare products in general! Also, Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid Lotion is the bomb!! Fave hydrator def, and hydrating my skin is my number one priority! And the Glycolic Acid Toner from The Ordinary! Did wonders for my texture.
Reader: @_kelseyandrews // Skin type: normal
Recommendation: Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial
@_kelseyandrews says: Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial - dramatically improves my skin texture every time I use it and lessens my breakouts by helping my daily products be absorbed into my skin once all the debris has been removed. I can't live without it now that I've experienced it.
Reader: @thelululifeonline // Skin type: normal/dehydrated
Recommendation: Jordan Samuel Skin Hydrate Facial Serum
@thelululifeonline says: If I had to pick one it would probably be Jordan Samuel Skin Hydrate Facial Serum. The best!! It's so soothing and makes a visible difference to the hydration of my skin. It makes it all juicy and lovely!! I have normal/dehydrated skin.
Reader: @from.filles // Skin type: combination
@from.filles says: Sheet masks are my favorite! There's so many varieties of it, tackling different skin issues. I put on one every time I feel like I'm lacking in moisture, sunburned or even just for a fun night in with my boyfriend. I bought them online from Korea, so they come in a big box with different types of masks. It's like the celebration chocolate box you got before Christmas. I have different ones from Innisfree and Missha (they're my favorite Korean brand for sheet masks, insanely cheap like 1 Euro per mask). But I also like Garden Love and LA Juice. Even the granier ones are amazing. And I also like to put them in the fridge before using them, extra cooling especially in summer and it's good for the pores. Oh and if you want to treat yourself a bit, Dr. Jart is the best!
Reader: @d_hue // Skin type: combination
Recommendation: Kiehl's Tumeric & Cranberry Seed Radiance Exfoliating Mask
@d_hue says: My favorite holy grail product is the Kiehl's Tumeric & Cranberry Seed Radiance Exfoliating Mask, it's so nice!!!! I have combination skin and this really makes my dull skin super fresh & soft!!!!!
Reader: @thelifestylearchive // Skin type: combination
@thelifestylearchive says: I really like that [the Joanna Vargas Daily Serum] is Hyaluronic Acid based. I have combo skin, so it provides enough moisture to my dry/dehydrated cheeks but is light enough for my oily forehead. I also like that it has Vitamins A, C, E and F. Overall it's just a really nice everyday serum. I can layer it with other serums and I never have any issues. It's also great under makeup and doesn't make my forehead feel more oily throughout the day. And it smells really refreshing! My Solaris Labs Gua Sha stone helps all my products absorb better.
Reader: @ivorytrim // Skin type: combination/acne prone
Recommendation: iS Clinical Cleansing Complex
@ivorytrim says: I have combo/acne-proned skin and curate my feed around those recommendations. One of my current HGs is: iS Clinical Cleansing Complex - deeply cleanses and helps refine pores over time, without stripping my skin or drying it out. It's been the best addition to my routine and my skin feels more balanced throughout the day - even in extreme Summer temps.
