Reader Recommendations: Holy Grail Products For Every Skin Type (Part Two!)

Last month we compiled a list of our reader’s holy grail product recommendations. We asked them for their HG product, why they love it and their skin type. Now it’s time for round two.

Dry Skin

Reader: @vertigobirdie // Skin type: dry

Recommendation: Lush Kalamazoo Cleanser

@vertigobirdie says: I'd really recommend the Kalamazoo Cleanser from Lush. I feel like no one in the skincare world is really talking about it, but it's my ride or die. I have dry skin that usually feels tight after cleansing. This baby is amazing and leaves me soft and dewy every time. Oh, and it doesn't lather.

Reader: @gracibreidenbach // Skin type: dry

Recommendation: Vanicream Cleanser

@gracibreidenbach says: I love it because it makes my skin feel smooth, is inexpensive and free of any harsh chemicals and fragrances.

Reader: @lostinskination // Skin type: dry/sensitive

Recommendation: Uriage Roseliane Anti-Redness Rich Cream

@lostinskination says: I love Roseliane Creme Riche from Uriage. It is super moisturizing and leaves my skin oh so soft and protected. I have dry, sensitive skin.

Reader: @sofa.027 // Skin type: dry/sensitive

Recommendation: Chanel Hydra Beauty Masque De Nuit Au Camélia

@sofa.027 says: I have dry skin that's also super sensitive, and the winter is rough in Chicago but this overnight leave-on mask leaves my skin feeling super replenished and hydrated when I wake up in the morning. I put it in the fridge for a cooling effect!

Normal Skin

Reader: @butterandbeauty // Skin type: normal/dry

Recommendation: ATOI Skincare Clarifying Milk Cleanser

@butterandbeauty says: I have normal/dry skin and nothing works better than this! It cleanses, hydrated and balances all at once! Plus the thick cream texture is so luxurious on the skin!

Reader: @intheglamroom // Skin type: normal/acne prone

Recommendation: IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream

@intheglamroom says: I know it's not a super glamorous or IG style brand, but it's just so good! It's thick and creamy but melts into the skin like a gel. So it's perfect for all skin types. Whenever I try something else, I always end up going back to it!

Reader: @hannahbeckham // Skin type: normal

Recommendation: Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap

@hannahbeckham says: I only use it once daily (at night) diluted with water! I love it because it makes your skin feel clean and has pretty much prevented every breakout since I started using it. And my skin isn't sensitive to the ingredients. I feel comfortable using it because the ingredients are clean! It's like all I wanna do now is wash my face. It's an experience using it hahahaha

Combination Skin

Reader: @almond._milk // Skin type: combination

Recommendation: Dr. Jart Clearing Solution Sheet Mask

@almond._milk says: My holy grail skincare product most definitely is the Dr. Jart Clearing Solution sheet mask. It has definitely helped clear my skin, I give most of the credit to this mask. I have combo skin so it prevents breakouts without completely drying my skin out.

Reader: @chillitsjustmakeup // Skin type: combination

Recommendation: Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

@chillitsjustmakeup says: My skin is combination. I love the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. It fades acne scars and hyperpigmentation and calms the skin down because it has centella asiatica extracts too.

Reader: @ninsdotblog // Skin type: combination/adult onset hormonal cystic acne

Recommendation: Noreva Exfoliac Eau Micellaire

@ninsdotblog says: Suffering from adult acne I've been constantly looking for a micellaire water that does not irritate my skin as it has become so sensitive after many treatments. This is the perfect combination of cleansing, soothing and refreshing. I use it daily! Bonus, it does not leave the skin feeling sticky.

Oily Skin

Reader: @marjoonak // Skin type: oily/normal/acne prone

Recommendation: Tea Tree Therapy Soap

@marjoonak says: I have normal to oily skin. Very acne prone. I've been using a tea tree soap which is sold by Sprout for almost 5 years now. Very affordable ($5), gets rid of makeup really well, leaves my skin clean but not dry, helps with acne scars.

Reader: @leahlemmonn // Skin type: oily/acne prone/enlarged pores

Recommendation: Tatcha Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen, Curology, Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate Glow Oil, Drunk Elephant Babyfacial, Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment, GlamGlow Supermud

@leahlemmonn says: I have oily, acne-prone skin with huge pores and it’s taken me a while to find products that work for my skin. I haven’t found anything that completely stops my oil production, but I don’t expect or want to. I’ve learned to embrace my skin and see the positives - oily skin ages better!
Tatcha Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen - leaves me with a matte finish and reduces the appearance of pores. I like that this doesn’t have a slick/greasy texture.
Curology - my concoction has tretinoin, clindamycin & azelaic acid and my skin loves it.
YTTP Superberry and Hydrate Glow Oil - fight oil with oil. My skin drinks this up and it smells divine.
Drunk Elephant Babyfacial - I use this chemical exfoliant once a week and my skins texture and appearance improves drastically.
Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment - the best treatment in the world. Hands down.
GlamGlow Supermud - cleans out my pores and reduces oil production.
